Given that I work an 84 hour week finding time to post on this blog was always going to be a challenge. So with that in mind I decided to try using my pocket PC to compose the posts with a view to publishing them later.
Pocket word suits my needs fine although if anyone has a better bit of software to suggest I'll check it out. Being able to rotate the screen through 90 degrees is a bonus although I thought that the onscreen keyboard might expand to fit. It doesn’t so I'll stick to using letter recognizer.
The good news is that it seems to work quite well. As I type this a coach is ferrying me along the quays in Dublin. Apart from the atrocious potholes making the handwriting recognition software work overtime it's actually not that bad. The word suggestion feature does a fantastic job guessing the longer words.

Once the post is completed I can invoke the spell checker to weed out the mistakes (all due to the potholes of course) and review my handy work.
Next step is to use the bluetooth connection to fire up the phone and post on the move!
In one way it actually helps writing, in so far as you don't get distracted on the internet or wandering off for a coffee.
Now if you'll excuse me there is a game of solitaire calling me. ![]()
