Some films are so much better because of the music and in particular the composer. Blade Runner and Vangelis, The Bounty and Vangelis, Chariots of Fire and Vangelis (I like Vangelis
)
Over the weekend I watched the Illusionist with Edward Norton. Brilliant film well worth watching and made so much better with the music from Philip Glass. The last time I listened to Philip Glass was in the early nineties. I hadn’t heard anything else since and thought he had retired or died.
Curiosity piqued and a conversation with Dan who mentioned remixes in Lord of the Rings, works with Aphex Twin etc led to a Google for Philip Glass.
He’s done some amount of film work.

He DID however, do a version of David Bowie's Heroes which was later bastardised (in a good way) by Aphex Twin.
Silly me...
